This
quiz is for those of you who have lived in Arizona
long enough to call yourselves natives. But even
if you are a recent arrival, take the test and see
how much you know about the place you call home.
- Founded in 1952, this is the home of one of the
oldest theatrical companies in Arizona. The theatre
was recently moved from downtown Scottsdale to
a new facility at McDowell Village. What is the
name of this theater?
- She was known as the Venezuelan Volcano for her
roles in Captive Wild Woman, Jungle Woman,
and Tarzan and the Leopard Woman. After
marrying the owner of a Phoenix car dealership, she
used her celebrity to raise funds for cultural
groups and charities. She did local TV commercials
and had a short-lived stint on late-night TV.

- He sits at the entrance to the MGM Grand in Las
Vegas. The 90,000-pound lion was cast in 1600 individual
pieces of half-inch-thick bronze plate, welded
together, and supported by a structural steel internal
armature. The bronze statue was fabricated by Snell
Johnson of ART Enterprises in Scottsdale.
- This toy was invented in 1916 by John Lloyd Wright,
son of architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
- This animal eats two to three times its body
weight each day. It can hover in mid-air by rapidly
flapping its wings 15 to 80 times per second. It
is very small and can be seen getting nectar from
flowers.
