Internal Audit Manager

AAA Arizona is looking for an experienced Internal Audit Manager to lead activities in planning and executing audits of AAA's operations.  The Internal Audit Manager is able to lead an enterprise wide effort in improving it's capability in risk management. The primary role of this position is to continuously improve AAA's controls environment against compliance and reporting requirements. 

The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for…

• Working with the executive team to prepare an annual audit plan based on prioritization of risk to organizational objectives - protecting reputation, protecting financial and capital assets, regulatory and reporting compliance and information security.
• Leading execution of the annual audit plan for all AAA by meeting with business lines, including support functions, to identify and evaluate key processes and controls against identified risk areas.
• Leading activities towards improving the quantitative and qualitative risk assessment process, facilitating execution of the risk assessment process and communicating results to executive management through a finalized audit plan defining priority areas and timing of audit activities.
• Traveling to business site, conducting interviews and process walk through and analyzing data to identify audit issues. Identifying the root cause of issue(s) and giving assurance on corrective action response. 
• Articulating how a process or control in review operates through use of flow charting and verbal communication. Documenting all findings within audit tracking software to keep track of progress and open issues.
• Testing effectiveness of corrective actions to ensure its adequacy to resolve any open issue.
• Leading closure of audit finding based on agreed upon actions, responsibility and date.
• Establishing a communication plan with management to ensure visibility of key open issues and an escalation plan when issues are not resolved as agreed upon.
• Preparing updates for executive management and Audit Committee on progress of the audit plan and other activities as defined by executive team.

We are looking for professional candidates with…

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related disciplines.
• Professional designations (e.g. CPA, CIA, MBA, etc).
• At least 5 years of professional experience in internal audit, public accounting or other related discipline.  Risk Based Internal Audit experience a plus.
• Strong MSOffice experience. Experience in Visio a plus.
• Ability to create process flows.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to demonstrate time management and planning skills
• Ability to identify control issues and resolve them with management.
• Adaptability to different work environments.
• Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills
