Mesa Resident Wins Prius in AAA Insurance Sweepstakes

Phoenix, Ariz., January 22, 2008 – The recent winner of a Toyota Prius admits he was not looking to switch insurance companies or buy a greener vehicle. He just wanted a free atlas for requesting an auto insurance quote after hearing about one of AAA Insurance’s sweepstakes.

In October, Mesa resident Larry Stump requested an auto insurance quote, received a free atlas and was entered into AAA’s Drive Green, Save Green sweepstakes for a free Toyota Prius. Just last month, he was notified that he was the grand prize winner.

“The car is great!” said Stump.  “We’re learning a lot about it since it’s totally different than what we’re accustomed to. I checked the other day and it said I had gone 201 miles and was averaging about 43 miles per gallon!”

Stump received his prize on his birthday. He recalls visiting AAA’s Mesa branch office after a celebratory breakfast. He thought he was just stopping by to provide his phone number for when his prize arrived, but Car Buying Consultant Koroun Butler instead surprised him with his new brand new Toyota Prius.

Stump recently returned to AAA’s Mesa branch office where he first requested an insurance quote to thank the staff. He says he is looking forward to spending more time in the car while on one of the many road trips he plans to take this summer.

To enter the sweepstakes, prospective customers had to request an auto insurance quote by visiting a branch office, or requesting a quote online or via phone, between September 1 and November 30, 2007. Anyone who requested a quote in a branch office also received a free 2008 road atlas. A third party handled the entries and randomly selected the winner.
