Distracted Driving
Distracted driving is one of the biggest dangers on our roads today. In fact, an estimated that 4,000 to 8,000 crashes occur daily across the country as a result of distracted driving (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).
Child Passenger Safety
Arizona’s current law is flawed by only requiring children under the age of five to be placed in a child restraint system when riding in a motor vehicle. This means that Arizona parents and caregivers, who look to the state law to provide guidance about when and how their children should be restrained, are unknowingly jeopardizing their child’s safety.
Primary Seatbelt Laws
AAA supports primary safety belt laws, which have been shown to reduce a state's motor vehicle fatalities by an average of 8 percent. Clearly there is significant room for improvement in terms of the implementation of primary safety belt laws.
