Arrive in Cairo and be greeted by a Uniworld representative who will escort you to the Cairo Marriott and Casino Hotel. Welcome Reception at Marriott exclusive to AAA President’s Cruise guests

Featured Excursion: Egyptian Museum and guided tour of Giza's Pyramids

After breakfast, you drive to Cairo's Egypt Museum, an unrivaled warehouse of Pharaonic treasures, including artifacts recovered from the tomb of King Tutankhamun.  Then come face-to-face with the enigmatic Sphinx and the magnificent Pyramids on a guided tour of Giza. You may even be persuaded to take a camel ride.

Day 4:

Fly to Luxor, cruising the Nile, Dendera

Featured Excursion: Karnak Temple Complex

Fly to Luxor in the morning, where you’ll discover the Karnak Temple Complex – an immense site with a vast conglomeration of mostly ruined temples, chapels, pylons and most notably, the Great Temple of Amen, all part of the monumental city of Thebes. Then board the ultra-luxurious River Tosca and sail to Dendera.

Featured Excursion: Temples of Hathor and Luxor

At the Dendera temple complex, one of the best-preserved complexes in Egypt, you’ll explore the Temple of Hathor, the largest and main temple of this imposing complex.  Later, return to Luxor to see the Temple of Luxor, located on the east bank of the Nile. The temple complex houses the impressive sitting Ramesses II Colossus, the red granite obelisk and Amenhotep's colonnade.

Luxor, cruising the Nile, Kom Ombo

Featured excursion: Valley of the Kings

Visit the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III dating back to 1350 BC, the Deir el-Bahri complex’s Temple of Hatshepsut on the west bank of the Nile opposite the city of Luxor, and the Valley of the Kings where, for a period of at least 500 years, tombs were constructed for the kings and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom, comprising some 63 tombs and chambers.  During the evening, enjoy a Galabeya party while your ship sails to Kom Ombo.  (BB, L, D)

Kom Ombo, cruising the Nile, Aswan

Featured Excursion: Aswan High Dam, Temple of Isis

Marvel at the impressive double temple in Kom Ombo. Visit the Aswan High Dam to see the unfinished Obelisk before traveling to the Temple of Isis, which rises from the waters of the Nile on the island of Philae. Later sail in a traditional felucca around Aswan’s Botanical Gardens.  In the evening, have fun at an onboard Nubian show.

Aswan, fly to Cairo

Featured Excursion: Abu Simbel Temple

After disembarking the River Tosca, you’ll be taken on a thrilling guided tour of Abu Simbel and examine an archeological site comprised of two massive rock temples on the western bank of Lake Nasser. The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside as lasting monuments to Pharaoh Ramesses II and his queen Nefertari. You return to the Aswan airport for a flight to Cairo and the Cairo Marriott and Casino Hotel.  As the sun sets, you will witness a magnificent sound and light show at Giza with the Great Pyramid the centerpiece of the dazzling display.

Day 9:

Cairo - Extra day in Cairo exclusive to AAA President's Cruise guests
Featured Excursion: Sakkara and Old Cairo

After breakfast, you drive to Memphis, 12 miles south of Cairo on the Nile, to admire the 33-foot colossal statue of Ramesses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. Close by, Saqqara features numerous pyramids, including the famous Step Pyramid. In the afternoon, you'll explore Cairo past and present on a guided tour before being treated to a farewell dinner and dancing show at a special Falafel restaurant.

The ancient sites will be remembered, but it will be the warmth and friendliness of the Egyptian people that will linger and be treasured long after you return home.
